Gary’s Report Card

Gary_ScherleAt the start of the season I made predictions of how each team would finish in the CFL. Now it is time to look at how I did. Without trying to sound arrogant, I was pretty close to the actual final standings. Below is the list of the predictions and the actual results. When I made the predictions, I had a strong feeling that Hamilton would finish in second. It was almost a guarantee the Als would finish in first but I didn’t think they would notch 15 wins. Congratulations to the Riders who will host the western final for the first time in 33 years. BC had a strong finish but faces a serious question mark at the quarterback position.

Predictions Actual Results

1) Montreal 11-7 1) Montreal 15-3
2) Hamilton 7-11 2) Hamilton 9-9
3) Winnipeg 7-11 3) Winnipeg 7-11
4) Toronto 5-13 4) Toronto 3 – 15

West Division West Division
1) Calgary 12-6 1) Sask 10-7-1
2) Sask 12-6 2) Calgary 10-7-1
3) BC 9-9 3) Edmonton 9-9
4) Edmonton 9-9 4) BC 8-10

Coming up on Sunday is semi-final weekend in the CFL. The Eskimos travel to Calgary for the west semi-final while the Lions cross over to the east to face the Ti-Cats. The battle of Alberta should be a close contest with last years Grey Cup Champions coming out victorious over the Esks. In the east I expect Kevin Glenn and the Ti-Cats to lay a beating on the Lions who have serious injuries at QB.
